Fit Tips for Diving

True to size — size down if between

Scuba leggings run true to size on land but loosen slightly in the water. If your measurements fall exactly on a size boundary, that's your size. If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing down — a snugger fit on land will feel right once you're in the water.

Size to your hips

For leggings, always prioritise your hip measurement. If your hips and waist suggest different sizes, go with your hip measurement — the waistband has stretch and the leggings will loosen slightly in water, so a snugger hip fit is the right call.

Layering under a wetsuit

Scuba leggings worn under a wetsuit reduce friction and help the wetsuit glide on and off more easily. For layering, size true to your measurements — a close-fitting layer works best under neoprene.

After your first dive

Recycled polyester softens slightly with saltwater and wear. If your leggings feel snug at first, they will relax a little after the first few dives while maintaining their shape and UPF 50+ protection.

Waist vs Hips

If your waist and hip measurements suggest different sizes, prioritise your hip measurement. Remember that leggings loosen slightly in water — if in doubt between two sizes, go with the smaller one for a better fit when diving.

Return shipping is paid by you, everything we make is produced only once you order it, which is how we keep overproduction and waste out of the ocean, so we keep round-trip shipping to a minimum rather than building its cost into every price.

Our fabrics are made to handle saltwater, chlorine, and sun.

To keep your gear looking and performing great, we recommend:

Rinse with fresh water after ocean or pool use
Wash cold, gentle cycle, inside out
Hang dry
Avoid dryers, bleach, and fabric softeners

Heat and harsh chemicals can break down performance fabrics over time.

Expert Tip! Wash your gear in a GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bag to protect the ocean by preventing microfiber shedding and extend the life of your gear

Avoid contact with rough surfaces as the fabric can easily pull and get damaged, this includes avoiding velcro from your BCD.

🌱 Fabric composition and certifications

These Scuba Leggings are made with 78% polyester and 22% elastane for US production & 74% recycled polyester and 26% elastane for EU production.

We use OEKO-TEX™ certified sublimation inks for printing our designs, which means they’re tested and certified to be safe for people and better for the environment.

These inks are specifically made for performance fabrics and permanently bond with the material, so the designs don’t crack, peel, or wash out.

Using OEKO-TEX™ certified inks means:

They’re free from harmful substances
Safer for the people who make and wear our gear
And a more responsible choice for the environment

A note on our fabric (September 14, 2026): Unfortunately, our U.S. production partner has changed fabric composition and it no longer contains recycled polyester for U.S. orders. The new fabric is thicker and more durable, so will last longer than before.

I've bought other dive leggings before, and since I have curves, the fabric sometimes stretches thin and loses the fabric pattern. These were a pleasant surprise. They are so well-made! The fabric stays in place and is pliable and soft enough to move with my body without distorting or straining the fabric…or feeling like I’ve cut off circulation.

And it must be said…this fabric is simply gorgeous… almost like a watercolor painting. Stylish, super comfortable, and I have no doubt they will be incredibly functional in the water on my upcoming liveaboard to the Philippines!

Great leggings all around! The fabric is soft, the design is beautiful, and the function is excellent. With the rash guard I felt glamorous and sun-safe. I already bought two other leggings before- which will be my favourites from now on! But I wasn't sure if size S would be the best fit for me, so after I found out it really is the best size for me, I couldn't resist to buy another one! And maybe I will buy another one in the future... At least now I know my size and that the products are as good as they seem from the pictures^^ I am 168 cm high, my hips are around 95 cm and waist around 71 cm and S fits perfect for me- its tight but still comfy to wear!^^
