Fit Tips for Diving

Snug is correct

Our scuba bikini bottoms are designed to fit close to the body so they stay in place under your BCD or wetsuit through multiple dives. If it feels slightly snug on land, that's right — a looser fit will shift and bunch underwater.

Layering under a wetsuit

If you plan to wear your bikini bottom under a wetsuit, size true to your measurements rather than sizing up. A close fit is more comfortable and more effective as a base layer under neoprene.

Size to your hips

For bikini bottoms, always prioritise your hip measurement over your waist. The waistband has some stretch and flexibility — getting the right fit across the hips is what matters most for comfort and coverage underwater.

After your first dive

Recycled polyester softens slightly with saltwater and wear. If your bikini bottom feels very snug at first, it will relax a little after the first few dives while maintaining its shape and support.

Our bikini tops and bottoms are sold separately so you can order different sizes for each. If your waist and hip measurements suggest different sizes, go with your hip measurement for the bottom — you can always mix with a different size top.

The Scuba Bikini is made from 75% recycled polyester for US production and 88% recycled polyester for EU production, giving plastic waste a second life by turning it into a high-performance fabric.

Recycled polyester uses 33% to 53% less energy and produces 54.6% less CO2 emissions when compared to traditional polyester making it a more sustainable choice.

Our fabrics are made to handle saltwater, chlorine, and sun.

To keep your gear looking and performing great, we recommend:

Rinse with fresh water after ocean or pool use
Wash cold, gentle cycle, inside out
Hang dry
Avoid dryers, bleach, and fabric softeners

Heat and harsh chemicals can break down performance fabrics over time.

Expert Tip! Wash your gear in a GUPPYFRIEND Washing Bag to protect the ocean by preventing microfiber shedding and extend the life of your gear

Avoid contact with rough surfaces as the fabric can easily pull and get damaged, this includes avoiding velcro from your BCD

We ensure premium quality that is ethically sourced throughout the supply chain with the following certifications:

We use OEKO-TEX™ certified sublimation inks for printing our designs, which means they’re tested and certified to be safe for people and better for the environment.

This bikini fits sooooo well! I thought being a 'top-heavy' lady that i might struggle with a top without wires, but this is so supportive, with still looking feminine and cute.
The bottoms are high waisted but doesn't have that butt part that makes you look like it's a diaper! It covers enough but still is flattering to any body shape.

Super comfortable, great soft material

Amazing quality and fit, and I love the pattern and colours! I used the size chart, but also asked some extra advice, and it fits perfectly. It stays in place without any uncomfortable squeezing, and you never have to check that it's still where it's supposed to be (which can sometimes be a problem with other bikinis).

I’d give this 10 stars if I could! I bought a lot of different things from The Dive Compass before a dive trip I had planned, and I absolutely LOVE all of them! They are so well made. It’s really quality material that’s both sturdy and very comfortable and fits so well. Perfect for diving, snorkeling, or a beach or pool day!! Love this print so much. It’s super vibrant, with beautiful colors and designs - none of which have faded with wear or wash. And it’s amazing that the company donates to ocean conservation - such a bonus!! The price is totally fair given the quality. It’s absolutely worth it. Will be buying more!

Great leggings all around! The fabric is soft, the design is beautiful, and the function is excellent. With the rash guard I felt glamorous and sun-safe.
