HOW THE PLEDGE WORKS
THE PROMISE, MADE SIMPLE.
The Dive Compass donates 10% of every sale, calculated on the product price, less taxes and shipping, directly to ocean conservation. We subtract taxes and shipping from the donation calculation because we believe in being transparent about what we're actually giving, not inflating numbers with costs that never touch our revenue.
Every order plants a specific number of coral fragments through our primary conservation partner, Livingseas Foundation in Bali, Indonesia. The coral count for each product is estimated based on that 10% donation and the cost of the reef structures we fund, so the number you see on every product page is a real, considered commitment, not a marketing number.
Any donation amount that exceeds these estimates is shared between our three conservation partners: Livingseas Foundation, Sea Shepherd, and Ocean Conservancy.

WHY SUPER STAR STRUCTURES
WE CHOSE THE STRUCTURE THAT GIVES CORAL THE BEST START.
Not all reef restoration structures are equal. The Dive Compass funds Super Star structures for Livingseas Foundation, and there's a specific reason we chose them over smaller alternatives.
Super Stars hold more coral fragments than standard Reef Star structures, sit higher off the seabed, and offer greater stability for the coral fragments attached to them. That height matters, keeping coral further from the sand reduces sediment interference and gives each fragment a better chance of survival and growth.
I've seen these structures underwater myself during my time volunteering with Livingseas in Bali. Watching coral fragments I helped plant grow into something that fish are already calling home is one of the most quietly extraordinary things I've experienced as a diver. That firsthand knowledge is why I'm confident in where your donation goes.

OUR PRIMARY CONSERVATION PARTNER
LIVINGSEAS FOUNDATION, BALI, INDONESIA.
Livingseas Foundation is a coral restoration organisation based in Padang Bai, Bali — operating in the heart of the coral triangle, one of the most biodiverse marine regions on earth. Their mission is to restore five hectares of reef in Bali's waters. They currently have almost one hectare restored, with over 450,000 coral fragments planted by hand.
I first volunteered with Livingseas in April 2025 and have returned four or five times since. What strikes me every single time is that the restoration site gets bigger and more alive with each visit — more coral, more fish, more colour. In a world where divers expect the reefs they love to degrade over time, Livingseas is proving the opposite is possible.
In March 2026, they asked me to join their team part-time as Tourism and Outreach Manager for Australia — a role I'm enormously proud of, and one that deepened my commitment to making The Dive Compass a meaningful contributor to their work.
100% of the reef structure donations The Dive Compass funds go directly into the ocean. Every Super Star we fund is placed, monitored, and maintained by the Livingseas team in Bali.

Our Impact
To date, The Dive Compass has funded over 400+ coral fragments planted in Bali's waters, and that number grows with every order. We're a small brand with a specific, measurable commitment: every purchase does something real for the ocean.
This is what we're building toward, a community of divers who suit up knowing their gear is actively restoring the reefs they love.
